Frequently asked questions
01I was outside the UK on the first day of the qualifying period. Is that a problem?
It can be. This is a strict requirement with limited flexibility, so check the date before applying.
02Who can be a referee?
Two people who know you personally and meet the published criteria. Relatives, your representative and Home Office staff cannot act.
03Can I travel while my application is pending?
Yes. Unlike many visa applications, travelling does not withdraw a citizenship application, but keep your contact details up to date.
