Who this is for

This is for people in the UK on a work route who need more time, are moving to a new sponsor, are changing role with the same sponsor, or want to move to a different route.

What is assessed

• A new Certificate of Sponsorship, on sponsored routes
• Whether the job and pay still meet the rules in force when you apply
• Your immigration history and compliance with conditions
• The position of any dependants

Timing

Apply before your permission expires. Rules, including salary thresholds, can change between your first application and the extension, so do not assume the earlier requirements still apply.

Changing immigration routes
